The Voice In My Head
by Jason Fountain (Age: 34)
copyright 11-12-2003

Age Rating: 13 to 127

Never again will I feel the pain, or pay the price to numb my brain.

...just one more time, just one more time.....

This time is different, I'll quit for good. I'll take back my life, and live as I should. I'm in control, not some little pill. I can stop anytime, it's just a matter of will.

...just one more time, just one more time....

It's not that hard, I did it with ease. I just had a problem not some made-up disease. I don't need meetings or to talk to some fool who pumps gas on the corner, cause he didn't finish school.

....just one more time, just one more time....

I don't know what i was thinking, I just got scared. I was clean for 9 months and no one cared. It doesn't really hurt anyone, it's not some big crime. I won't use everyday......just one more time...

....About 3 months ago, I lost my wife. I took one more pill, and threw away my life, nothing more can be done, no more can be said.... I'll just take all of these pills, I'm better off.....

....just one more time, just one more time.....

I'm lying here in bed, with death in my hand. Too strong to sleep, yet too weak to stand. Tears fill my eyes as I hear the clock Chime, I'm gonna try to beat this........ Just One More Time.

AS I stated to you in your e-mail, I thought this was a wonderful piece of work. I also think this could easily be made into some awesome song lyrics. Might be something you would want to look into. You are definetly talented.
