Questioned is your every word,
by lost souls who refuse to hear.
Lord, my attentive ears have heard
your silent whisper . . . felt your tear.
Rained down on my wayward heart from above,
like healing crystals sent on summer winds.
Each drop a symbol of your precious love
when your heavenly rivulet descends.
My heart has witnessed your power,
and seen your miracles performed.
You approached me in my darkest hour,
and my laden heart was transformed.
I felt your tenderness embrace my soul
soothing away my years of mortal stress.
Every shattered piece became a whole
filling each barren spot of emptiness.
My spirit walked freely among the dead,
lost on a road headed for hell.
Until I caught a tear you shed,
from my mother’s angelic well.
I awoke to her kneeling by my bed,
with her hands folded in prayer.
A tear fell with the bowing of her head,
that said, without a doubt I care.
I heard her whisper to Heaven above,
“Lord please, lead my daughter into your light.”
I heard my mother’s spoken words of love,
when she prayed for my redemption that night.
Your power was sent through her pain,
to teach me what words never could.
Fiery droplets of acid rain
proved you loved me, and always would.
Her single tear scorched flames upon my flesh,
as it floated across my barren chest.
Wilted petals fell and blossoms grew fresh,
when her rain washed over my breast.
You sent your tears through mother’s eyes,
on a silent midnight in May.
To cleanse a young child’s painful cries
when my heart had wandered astray.
Thank-you Lord for your golden tears that night,
sent from beneath my mother’s wounded lids.
I hope every mother will shed your light,
with heartfelt prayers for our wayward kids.
