How could you?
by Debra Rose (Age: 21)
copyright 11-30-2003

Age Rating: 7 to 127

Your such a selfish ingrate!
Always thinking about yourself,
I can't believe you went and did this to me,
How could you go and die on me?
I told you there was something to live for,
But you couldn't just believe me,
Things were looking up to the sky,
But you had to go and die on me.
I mean, I know it wasn't your fault,
You probably couldn't see the car,
And the cross walk was almost completely unmarked,
And the man was speeding oh-so-fast,
But you could have fought a little bit harder!
You could have strived a little bit longer!
Why'd you have to go and die on me?
How could you go and die on me?

I'm sorry I didn't put this sooner, but this isn't a real story. It's based off of everything that's been happening in my town, and it struck close to home when the same reckless drivers who have been killing people like there was no tomorrow got into an accident on the freeway with my girl, but she somehow managed to only knick the side. If she hadn't pulled her wheel that way, she would have been dead on impact. I'm lucky her reactions are so fast.

That feeling of being abandoned or betrayed somehow is hard. Good writing
