I once received a wonderful letter full of a man's thoughts on loving, giving, succeeding, and failing. I just had to write his sentiments in a poem. Thanks go to my Lil' Muchacho.
Some people try to give and
some only learn to take
Some love in this life we live
others always seem to hate
It may be hard to decide
what course you should follow
Look, if you like, at my life
and see why mine's not hollow
The only trick I seem to
have made any sense of
Is to give with open hearts
keeping them open for love
Though sometimes a message screams
sometimes it's really quiet
Sometimes it says what it dreams
but sometimes it just sighs it
If you leave your heart open
many things could result
Remember if you're hurt
It's your (and only your) fault
You might look around to see
some things end, some begin
And just like the bad in life
good things CAN make their way in

Making sense of love is like trying to understand women. If you think you've got it...it changes in front of your eyes. If you just accept it for what it is, then you will be able to enjoy it more. No love is guaranteed. Tomorrow they may not be here, so love each day as if it was the last,...it might be! Thanks, Anthony
I guess I didn't want to blame "him" for any hurt that existed... so I blamed myself for "letting" him. Come to think of it (after reading your comments) I don't see where I could have done anything different or kept it from happening. And like a pendulum swinging back and forth... here it all comes creeping round the bend again. *sigh* And again... and again. Do we just not place the blame on anyone and chalk it all up to chance then? And yes, CL... Good things DO tend to find their way in at times... if we would only be willing to see it while it's there instead of not noticing it until it's on its' way out. *smile*
Bev... I only meant that we shouldn't blame others or hold grudges or anything. We did, after all, open our hearts to love. What's that old saying? It's better to have loved and lost... So don't be bitter and blame others and say they "stole" our love, or "broke" our hearts... we gave our love willingly, and our hearts only feel broken... that's what happens when they're empty. But don't close the doors, keep them open to love again. Did that make any sense? *shrug* Hope so. *smile*
