Wearied from its constancy
Worn from its relentlessness
Frazzled by the endless drain
On my energy, my strength
My rest, my health, my hope
I rise each day to face anew
The mundane challenges of life
And the unceasing battle I fight
Struggling to find solid ground
Or a tether to cling to desperately
In the overwhelming torrents
I seem to face completely alone
And I hear the calls from shore
From those outside the pain
Crying out to me in encouragement
To hold fast, to keep faith
To not lose hope in my God
I try to be faithful and true
Remain steadfast and certain
Of a God who raises the dead
And heals the blind and the lame
God who loved all creation
God who chose to love even me
I long for His peace in the storm
His relief, His healing, His touch
But still, still I struggle here
And still I feel alone in this battle
Endless, unrelenting, warring
With this pain, this illness, and
I am just so worn and so weary

Because we believe does not mean life will be easy. We ask for guidence and pray we recieve his directions properly. Faith means we believe there is God, even when we cannot see any tangible evidence. I wrote a poem called,"Winners Never Quit" and I would like to know what you think. Your poetry is so filled with a love for God and I enjoy reading all of them. Thanks, Anthony
Heather, I think each of us has felt this way about our lives at various times..just remember that pain and frustration, and joy and hope come in cycles, and we must be willing to live through each one with faith that God will see us through. Wonderful poem.

Heather: Very good synopsis of life in general! You capture the essence of the day to day struggle to survive, the quiet desperation we all face, and the fight to keep the faith. You are not alone in this struggle. Well put.
