Waiting
by Irina Guschina (Age: 53)
copyright 12-04-2003

(Tanka)

My cheek to your cheek,
Dancing near the fire-place,
We start a flying...

Looking back I see us two,
Still waiting your only look.

Its hard when the other person does not feel the love the way that you do. We wonder why we feel love so deaply and the one we feel it for does not convay it the same way. Keep looking someone is out there that is perfect for you! Thanks, Anthony

Here is how I understand this one (I'm usually really wrong but I try! lol)
The first part is like a flashback, remembering happy times together...but maybe a little something was missing? Now, looking back on it, you know you were waiting for that look that tells you there is no one else...you are the only one he sees?
If I made any sense at all, that is how I understand this poem.

As always, a good poem from you, Irina. I loved it, but do not quite understand the last line.
