From A White Horse To A Black Hell
by Janet Owenby
copyright 12-09-2003

Age Rating: 13 to 127

Away, Away, my mind will speed,
mounted upon an alabaster steed.
I'll leave everything behind,
to chase this falsehood planted in my mind.

I’ll drown myself in chimery,
and ride with this White Horse in misery.
I’ll beg him for another ride,
and throw away every ounce of pride.

I’m off to never, never, land,
on this demon of crystalized cocaine.
I’ll kiss death and touch Satan’s hand,
for this addiction that drives me insane.

I won’t stay in this saddle long,
before I’m thrown into fiery pits of hell,
to face Lucifer’s evil prong,
and drown myself within his bloody well.

Slowly, my body starts to sink,
down, down, into Hell’s lowest depths of shame.
Pools of red are fading to pink,
as I’m kissed by Hades’ eternal flame.

Great work, Janet! I would certainly rate it among your very best. A brilliant inditement against the evils and hopelessness of drug reliance.
