Kaleidoscope
by Joan Jotz (Age: 54)
copyright 12-30-2003

Age Rating: 7 to 127

Day's taper flickers and wanes;
Golden flecks of sun
Sparkle like splintered shards...
Light refracted in life's glass.

Dusk draws it's silent curtain;
Soft folds of velvet abandon
Billow behind starry fields...
Night gilded in jeweled mirrors.

The deep calm of evening;
Astral prisms shine, reflect,
And spark fantasy's vision...
Dreams twist the kaleidoscope.

You have captured light and refraction in a single wonderful poem. When I read this poem, I was immediately transported to a world of glass and prisms. The reflection quality of this peace is evident in the elaboration of the sentences and in the efficacy of the poet's use of language. Very nicely done.

Isn't it all in how we see it?
I really liked the images, and how they're depicted for us. There's nothing blurry here. And it's all so very beautiful!

I agree with Moses, this is brilliant! And nice pic, it sort of looks like a bunch of fireworks painted in the sky by a little kid! And is this abstract art? Cause I think i see a water dragon outlined at the bottom! o_O ^-^
