I can remember
A girl I used to know
In the mirror
She was so beautiful
I can remember
She lived life so dilgenlty
She made a wish
And would bleed
She never really wanted this
Only to be loved
And now she bleeds
Without hesitation
Breaking skin
Moving on, going on
Forever unknown
Forever alone

This is a frightening poem, Jessie. Reminds me of the days when I used to slice, and the times I still do (however rare they may be).
And i just have to say...I love the eloquent way Steffie wrote you her comment. I agree. The numbness adds to the "nifty mood and all that good poetry smuff." LOL!
I don't kow, I might just be me, but this poem feels kinda numb, you know? It adds to the whole nifty mood and all that good poetry smuff. Too many people I know can relate to this poem.... good write though, Jessalyn!
