Spring is like a maiden fair
Daisies coiled in long blonde hair
A light and airy butterfly
Swift to soar away up high
Shining like dawn breaking the night
To let in love and joy's pure light
Summer is a lad so bold
Running in sunlight like streams of gold
Reading a book 'neath the shade of a tree
Summer is youthful, wild and free
Mirror-smooth pond's a haven from heat
Summer's lad sits down and cools his feet
Fall glides in like a debutante
Flame-red hair on bare shoulders she flaunts
Bedazzling every leaf of green
'Till a finer picture man's never seen
She painst the trees in her favorite shade -
But quickly, too quickly, does Autumn fade
Winter's eyes are an icicle blue
His thoughts are many; his words are few
His hair is jet-black like the death-darkened crow
Whipping in wind his breath causes to blow
His skin is pale; his robes are of fur
When he'll vanish away, no one ever is sure
