My Knight in Shining Dust Cloth

This is not only for my friends, but for Joan as well, as she helped me with correcting it so much. Thank you.

No shining armor or horses
Nor lance or strumming bard,
Did you appear with on this eve...
Nay, only with your heart.

No sword rests at your side,
Nor crown upon your head,
Such adornments do not fit you
As heaven is in their stead.

The tears that turn to stardust,
Frame the crown around your face,
Your gallantry aids this fallen one,
And saves him from disgrace.

You vanquish the looming darkness,
And fight, devoid of fear,
Though you see the scars upon my flesh,
And the cheeks, so stained with tears.

Your convictions are your sword,
Your strength your only shield,
And the bard that sings your honor,
Is none other than heavens fields.

No matter what your riches,
Be your clothes holey from moths,
You need no armor, my Champion...
You are my knight in shining dust cloth

hehehehehe...this I wrote for two very very very good friends who I've known forever, and the two just found each other and realized how in love they are. As a matter of fact, they're arranged to get married on New Years! Congratulations you guys!!!! :D!!!!

This is most beautiful love story, written, I assume, by a very down-to-earth person with lots of character. My heart melts like butter in the sunshine when I read this. It's also very well-written, well-structured,good rhyme and rhythm.

This is truly a winner and you are truly a great talent.

Rich

glittering armour needs to be polished too often for my elbows.. that's why my love is a knight in rusty armour =)
this is a lovely piece. I'm a sucker for romatic love.

I love the imagery, and the words used. They made the piece feel complete.
