Fairies
by Doreen Reynolds
copyright 01-20-2004

Age Rating: 10 to 127

Do Fairies live in flower castles
With rose petals on the floor
Do they sleep in pansy beds
With roses round the door
Do they ride out on little mice
With saddles made of feathers
Umbrellas made of mushrooms to keep off the
worst of weathers
Do fairies fly on dragonflies
To cut down use on wings
Do ladybirds make charming seats
Do elves make fairy rings?
Do water bugs make little boats
And are there little fleets?
Do fairy Kings wear diamond coats
Made out of water drops
And are there emerald dresses
For Fairy Queens to wear
Do they go riding out at night
Or, are they really there?

Doreen

I saw your newest submission, then as I try to remember to do with everyone I'm not familiar with, went to your Author's Page and found this. And, of course, had to read, then smile, then stop smiling so I could write a reasonably coherent comment.

Of course faeries are real! Fairies, too. All one need do is look closely enough, believe a little bit--or maybe a whole lot bit--listen to the ever-present Truth a child has, and they may not appear and sit on your shoulder, but they will let you know they are there.

Mine does, anyway. ^_^

I think that this poem really captures the mystery out there, and I bet if u believe enough, there ARE faeries out there.....but that's just my opinion. This poem can really get someone's imagination flowing, keep up the good work!!!! ^.^

Very vivid and full of delightful images. This poem brought to life many of my childhood reveries. Highly recommended.

Warm Regards,
Lyle
