Day in day out Christmas
by Walter Jones (Age: 62)
copyright 06-22-2004

Age Rating: 10 to 127

A word falls to ground
a scream is heard in the town
a brand is placed around
virgins neck

Still in the silent night
a group offers fright
to scare the old man by candle light
angels sing a song

Those of noble breed
are the last of David's seed
wise men come out of need
stable in town

Shepards voices grow
some claim winter snow
sheep lay low
radient beams from a face

Time marks the spot
neither cold or hot
beleif a melting pot
2000 years ago

words fall around
a sleepy little town
a organ broke down
a pastor sermon writes

Each of us in humble need
the story received
believed in the seed
this silent night

07-05-2004 Mary -BrytEyz- Ball

I'm eternally grateful for the birth of our savior, and even more so with what his death accomplished. The gift of forgiveness at a high price indeed.

Just a side note, did you know that the manger scenes we see created by merchandisers is not completely accurate? When reading the Bible and closely paying attention, Jesus was approximately 3 years old when the "wise men" came bearing gifts. And they were led astray by a light in the sky FIRST to King Herod (I believe that was his name) who wanted the savior killed.

After speaking with the "wise men", he sent forth a decree to kill all male children 3 years of age and younger. By this time in Jesus' life, they had returned to their homeland (only being in Bethleham for the census, thus the traveling on a donkey and sleeping in a manger). So, when the "wise men" actually made it to Jesus, he was no longer in a manger.

Anyway, I'm one for truth in all things and thought you may appreciate .... "The Rest of The Story" sort of thing.
