Burning Embers

by Moses Hochstetler (Age: 64)
copyright 12-28-2003

Age Rating: 13 +

Starlight flickering on the sea,
Diamonds winking back at me;
Bonfire dancing close at hand,
Burning embers in the sand.

The moon is floating in the sky,
The winds caressing clouds on high;
Darkness casts a blanket on
The lonely beach until the dawn.

My love is close, here by my side,
Arms are waiting, open wide;
Lips to lips, and hand to hand -
Burning embers in the sand.

From JANUARY to BURNING EMBERS,
from hot June nights to freezing Decembers
Your visions are painted with words
with descriptions so readily heard
You've a talent that ties the said and unsaid
And creates vivid visions in my head
You tie them so tightly, they won't ever part
Nor be forgotten or erased from my heart!
