God's Promise

I have sought wisdom
In the minds of others
Desperately cried out
To husband and mothers
Have turned all directions
Except the one I ought
Knowing all the time
I’d already been bought
I bore upon my shoulders
A weight I couldn’t bear
Carried deep within me
Sins too dark to share
Knowing all along that
I had to give them up
The tears within are mine
Still I can’t drink this cup
I bow beneath a weight
Threatening to break my back
Unable to give it over
To Him who has what I lack
Patiently He calls me still
Daughter, Beloved Bride
Even as I struggle here
He draws me to His side
Tears now freely flowing
I accept His sweet relief
At least until I forget again
And retrieve forgotten grief
Someday, though, I am certain
He has promised good to me
Eternity without tears in joy
And His triumphant victory

This is a beautiful devotional, prayer-like. poem. I loved this one Heather. Reminds me of something from "My Utmost for His Highest," a favorite of mine.
