Dragon's Oath

Pain
Suffering
Darkness
Long was the time that these were all I knew.
Little did I foresee into my future.
Little did I wish to remember my past.
Forgotten to me was the touch of love.
The light of dreams.
The warmth of peace.
The strength of hope.
I even forgot how to trust others.
Deep were the shadows before me
And lost was my path.
Scarce were the reasons to continue on this grim course.
Consumed by darkness and heavy with pain.
Soon I was to forget the very breath of life and sink into the shadows.
But a light pierced the balckness and stirred something within my heart,
I had once thought long since dead.
From the very clutches of death you and the shadows consuming me,
You pulled me into a world filled with laughter and happiness,
And you helped me to remember those I has long forgotten.
You gave me your heart and your promise that I would never be alone again.
And in time I gave you the same for this I am in your debt.
Now the darkness rises again threatening to take your very soul,
And your very life and use them to destroy the whole world.
And now is the time I will repay my debt.
From this day forth I pledge my undying loyalty to you,
I will face the darkness upon the field of war under your banner.
Until those whom I serve release me or death do take me.
This I swear.
