Racing over, around, between glistening boulders, surging through splendid canyons at ten thousand feet, Clear Creek, Colorado, roiling brown waters aching for the sea.
I get out of the Dodge, half slide down the bank. I grip a young aspen, brace myself, squeeze off a shot of the brave spruce on the opposite bank, stand there awhile in absolute awe, then dash up the bank and into the car just ahead of the cold mountain rain.

Since I live on the coast of New Jersey, I don't have much experience but I was able to picture with easily with the help of your vivid descriptions and all the visits up to the mountainous parts of New York to see my grandparents. :) I like the coast though...and the marshes...yes, I really do love my kayaking! It's so nice to carry the kayaks across the street and explore all the creeks in the marshes and do the open-bay kayaking. Personally, I like open-bay kayaking better. More exercise for the upper arms! I've never had a problem going against tide though, I work out with eight-pound twice-daily so... Arg, I'm so random right now! Anyway, although I've lived my life on the coast I also like the mountains, for I love hiking as much as I love kayaking if not more, so I guess I'll have a helluva time deciding where I want to live when I grow up. :) Good work, keep writing!
