Last Tear
by Walter Jones (Age: 63)
copyright 03-03-2004

Age Rating: 10 to 127

Silence falls in the dark
A child finds love in a park
Wishes for her own to love
I cry for her life now

Boy thinks he is a man
does it cause he can
neither of them understand
The door that just closed

A path has been drawn
A picture set on the lawn
She will cry when all alone
Both their mothers are gone

Life is real
So is this new child

It has been awhile Walt. Yet it never seizes to amaze me when I read another write of yours. Short, but yet to the point...*chuckles* soemtimes it feels like I am in a never ending compition with you my good friend. Almost like battle of the poems...*giggles* Well I will have some up soon, so please, when you get the chance, look to see.

Very poignant. My eyes fill with tears at the thoughts this poem creates. Beautiful and heartbreaking!

Praying for something real, something solid in a world of the ephemeral and evanescent. Children are forced to grow up by the children they create and the uncaring eyes of their parents. Today has gotten to be horrible, and tomorrow is destined to be nothing short of worse. Where are we going in all of this? Your poem adresses the sadness of this generation, and the pain that leads them to create their own children. Babies giving birth to babies. What else can happen from generations born of revenge and agony? Wonderful write, walt.

Forever,
Debra
