This Feeling

I have this feeling
I've been longing to share
All my sixteen years of life,
I've searched for someone.
Is she there?

This feeling is growing...
The longing now stronger...
My loneliness unbearable...
I need to share!

This feeling of mine
Will anyone share it with me?
Will someone rid me of this loneliness?
I have to find out!

Is there someone who feels the same,
Someone with these same longings?
I need to ease this pain,
I need to be able to smile.

If there is someone with this feeling,
I will be the one to share it with.
There will be no more lonely nights,
We shall share this feeling 'til the day we part

Hello Tavis:
There is an extraordinary depth of feeling in your poem that older people might not expect to find coming from the heart of someone your age. Yet, older people [I'm one of them, sad to say] were your age at one time. And, we wizened ones mustn't forget how powerful was the love we could feel back then. Thank you for helping me recall this, sir.

Very emotional with a promise of commitment... very unique for someone your age! I always write stuff that has some sort of pattern or beat, almost always rhymes, nearly always serious or weighty in topic, and love/romance lurks behind every one of my poems. Pretty predictable. Yours, however, are unique and different.
