Serenity Moon
by Joan Jotz (Age: 54)
copyright 04-11-2004

Age Rating: 1 to 127

Beneath serenity's blush moon,
On the canvas of dusky dunes,
Shadowy portraits are displayed,
Brushed over grains of pearly gray.

Along a winding, windswept path,
Silver-green wisps of tall sea grass
Circle in moonlit minuets,
Tracing patterns in smooth vignettes.

A sand pail castle's mystery
Of opal turrets by the sea,
Shimmers in vernal vestiments,
With shell-encrusted parapets.

Luminous specters, sea foam ghosts,
Hauntingly drift along the coast.
Quicksilver traces, starry blooms,
Glisten beneath a still blush moon.

Simply beautiful. Your word choices actually speak to the reader. It's a masterful skill that I hope to one day acquire.

I also love your imagery. The innocence and purity described in the poem is really touching. Very good, please more like this one.

I can see the picture forming and the the waves lapping at the shoreline from the painted words you have written, Joan. Excellent work.

Very nice picture painted here, Joan - almost haunting.

Joan,
As always, your words do wonders to soothe me and keep my head on straight. If only real life could retain such beauty, captured in that perfect moment of bliss. Thanks for catching it for me, even if only for a moment.
