Why does it have to be this way?
You wanna be the star of the show,
But to me it's just a foolish act
Why can't you just be yourself?

You don't have to be that special "somebody"
'Cause you're making others feel like"Nobody"
Why can't you be the person you were meant to be?
I loved you the way you were...

Why don't you look inside yourself,
And find the real "you"?
It isn't hard to do,
Listen to your heart, it will help you along

Why is it so hard,
To try and catch your eye,
You're too busy showing off
Your dignity and pride

So take off the mask,
You know that it's fake,
Show your true colors to the world,
And love me like before!

Unfortunately, a lot of people try to be someone their not, or try to hide themselves from the world when they shouldn't. It's also hard on the relationship when someone tries to be someone different. Almost like trying to discover what life would be like in someone else's shoes.

HI Jenna,
This is a pretty good piece. My only suggestion would be to decide if you want to rhyme or not. Try to stay with one or the other, otherwise the flow is disrupted.
Your message is clear to the reader. Just needs a little refining.
