Miss Katie! Miss Katie!
Please hold my hand.
Miss Katie! Miss Katie!
I try as hard as I can.
Miss Katie! Miss Katie!
I love you so much.
Miss Katie! Miss Katie!
Your care is nonesuch.
I am Miss Katie,
That is my name.
I help teach kids,
That is my game.
I love these kids
With all my might,
And teach the difference
Between wrong and right.
These little kids
I love so dear,
Are happiest
When I am near.
When I am having
A horrible day,
They give me a hug
And make it go away.
When they fall down
or feel real blue,
I, Miss Katie, know
Just what to do.
I give them a hug
To make them feel better
And give them a band-aid
That's bigger than ever.
"Why do I love these
Kids?" you may say.
Well see for yourself.
That'll brighten your day.
(dedicated to my Kindergarten classes and First grade class)

Very good! Teachers are special people and you really capture the special relationship between the student and teacher. I enjoyed reading this very much.
nice poem written good sounds like yopu and the little kids have a real bond....i did work experiance in the nursery school i had so much fun with all the kids so i can relate to this poem!!! nice one!!!
i love this poem! it reminds me a lot of my aunt and cousin who are teachers of around the same age group. children at that age are so young and innocent, and i can rememeber when i was that young as well. i just loved my teachers! good job! =)
I did daycare off and on for ten years before opening my own group day care home. I ran that business for another twelve years with such success that some parents refused to relocated even when threated with loss of employment due to an inability to find adequate child care elsewhere. I had a waiting list longer than some of the tales I wove with the children, and THAT was pretty long! ;-)
I do so love children and sometimes in the shopping center I hear, "Miss Mary!" only to turn around and be greeted by a six foot three grown male ... and his family! Now, THAT makes me feel old!... Old but great!
I will be "Miss Mary" until the day I die and children flock to me like the pied piper wherever I go. I most definitely understoon your work! Thank you for the smile.
As for the construction of the poem, well... at some points it seems to flow, and at others it's a bit choppy. I've read poems that are either, or...but not both. *shrug* Or maybe that's what you wanted? Email me if you want more. :-) And continue to love children. They are our future!
