American Spirit
by Walter Jones (Age: 63)
copyright 04-25-2004

Age Rating: 10 to 127

My eyes in tears drop down to see
The last gleaming giants of the sea
Wandering water waves skin to tan

will walking widows across the sand
Each and every wave a cry to understand
What has happened to the freedom man

From one and lonely shore across the main
Burning final fires of desire that still remain
Home we moved strongly west was our plan

A people free from the tyranny of English crown
Westward ho was the rolling wagon sound
Each soul took their turn and knew "I can"

Now today in pleasure shared enjoyed here
Some of these chose to live in sheltered fear
No fight left just some gold left in the pan

The cowboy in us stands tall and brave
Cleverer charges can not losers save
Hide the few cells red white and blue ran

Our blood like oil covers the sand

I feel the same when I think of russian people and Кussia history. The sigh and tears...
