Contest Rules

With our new contest system, most of the rules are set by the person sponsoring the contest.
However there are a few things that have become problems. To the best of my knowledge, the problems have all been solved.
PnP is age-sensitive. The member's birthdate is used to calculate age and they are allowed to see only works which have been rated for their age. This initially caused a problem with contests. Any work could be entered in any contest. The problem is that if the work was rated above the sponsor's age, he could not read and judge it.
That has been handled by blocking entries which are rated too high for the sponsor's age. If it is appropriate, a person can edit and change the age so the work can be entered.
This needs to be used with caution. We do NOT want works to be intentionally rated too low just so they can be entered in a contest. Use good judgement, please.
Another problem was editing. It seems very inappropriate to allow editing while a work is in a contest. That has now also been blocked. If you don't see a link to edit a work, that is probably the reason why. When the contest ends and a winner is chosen, the block is removed and the work may be edited.
Official PnP contests: At the moment we are not holding official PnP contests. The ceckbox has been removed from the entry screen. The Directors do have the ability to start a contest also. Should we wish to do an official PnP contest, we will enter it as Directors. It will then appear with all other contests, except that the sponsor will be PnP Directors.
Help Us Stop Plagiarism -
Nearly all works at PnP are original. However a few people choose to plagiarize.
To check, choose a phrase from the work, then either drag and drop to the search box or copy and paste.
click on search and works at Google will be shown which match. Just to be sure, please do this before
you recommend or rate the work highly...
ok, I just noticed that I have been on this site for about two months, and next to contests and contest winners, it says NEW!
Well, I checked and the earliest contst was way back in April.
Now, this might be rude, but if the contests have been up for at least half a year, does it really count as new?
Just something I noticed.
