Mary Waits For Me
by Walter Jones (Age: 63)
copyright 04-25-2004

Age Rating: 10 to 127

Sorrow and sadness keep me in the sun

For when the day is over I will still miss

Someone

Like the burning river over death that

often calls to me I will never look

to see

Shadows on the river of a dying heart

never lead to forgiveness when the bodies are

a part

Take the last of September buried into the dream

of the parting of the robin and the blue moon seldom

seen

We do not walk the valley in the hour before the sun

because the only memory of life is the lonely feeling I

still miss someone

Child of natures screams at the coming of the dawn

in the that the final meeting between the earth and sun

there is no one

"the only memory of life is the lonely feeling I

still miss someone". I know this feeling, Walt!.. And "there is no one " as well. Your words are always so penetrating, exact and unexpected.
With love,
Irina.

Compelling. Interesting. Good feeling. The last two stanzas need a bit of touch-up, but a pretty good piece. Cheers!
