Bitter Win
by Walter Jones (Age: 63)
copyright 05-04-2004

Age Rating: 10 to 127

There was angel on my shoulder
to help me with the pain
A four leaf clover in my pocket
to guide me in the rain

In out of the fire on the line
Jumpers in the clouds
All make it home
this time

What is the music playing
Who said you could come
Earthly job is not a reward
But it is done

Savor the moment
Hero though you are
An’t nobody play
Still you are the star

Got an angel on my shoulder
Wished upon a falling star
Heard my voice ring out
as I totaled the car

Day to day I wonder
Angel holding tight
Victim of the meaning
Understand correct from right

St Christopher he picked me
Wander to those who win
Christ is my savior
Forgives my earthly sin

Close your eyes count the blessing
Placed upon a Wailing Wall
They cut his hair
God still answered his call

Where are you in the plan
What is it you have done
Just survial is enough
Angel on my shoulder won
