Author's Note:This was writen for a contest called Letter Of Explanation. Imagine this as if I were a 20 year old explorer. Thank you!

My Dearest Angela,
First, let me explain to you how joyful I am to hear that you are marrying Travis! You two make an absolutely adorable couple! My congratulations! I know that you will have the best of lives. Angela, we have been through thick and thin. We know tough times, and now you will finally have someone to fully confide in other than me! The thought of you being married fills my heart with happiness.
I am writing you this letter to let you know the best thing in the world has happened to me! On my expedition in the Brazilian rainforest, I became incredibly lonely. There were many other people along with me, but no one who I could really become friends with. When we stopped in a small village on the Amazon, I met a man. He was beautiful. He is a strong, dark-haired, handsome, tall, Italian man. His name is Gentry. Gentry joined our expedition. We talked day and night! He has traveled the world, seen many exotic wonderful things, and is SINGLE! Imagine my surprise when I found out that an amazing creature like himself was not married. He said it was because he does not get many chances to really meet women. So of course, we clicked right away. I told him that I am always traveling as well, and can never meet anyone special. I swear Angela, the karma between us is ecstatic! His big brown eyes gaze into mine, and I just fall into a rage of mad desire to be with him always. The rainforest is gorgeous, and we have now set out to the most wonderful parts of Brazil.
This may seem like short notice, but we have gotten to know each other very well. Being with each other day and night, we are at the point where we can almost finish each other’s sentences! Never do I tire from being around him. Angela, he makes me happy. I know that you would like to know that. The first time he kissed me was magic. We were sitting watching the sunset, and he started to whisper in my ear. He was saying how he thought that there could never be anyone who he could love as much as he did me. Then, he leaned over and kissed me. There was more than fireworks, Angela. There was an explosion of fire that I have never felt ever before.
Everyday we grow closer. And finally, I want to let you know that we are engaged as well! One night while we were eating a dinner of delicious bugs (yeah right), he took my hand. We went for a walk in the woods and talked. Finally, out of the blue, he gets on one knee and puts a small 'twig' ring around my finger. Of course, I said yes. The passion I felt when he proposed was incredible. I know it may seem unromantic, but it was the most romantic moment of my life.
Angela, you know I never wanted a big wedding. Right now, my parents would just not understand. I am only 20 years old, and I know they would not approve. They just do not know Gentry the way I do! I’m sure, once they get used to the idea of him around, they will approve. But in the meantime, we cannot stand it any longer. We must be married at once. Tomorrow we are eloping to the nearest church.
Sadly, I will not be able to attend your wedding because we will be honeymooning back in his hometown in Italy. I love you dearly, and you know I would never intentionally hurt you. Please, I will make this up to you. Right now, there is no way I can explain what I am doing. You must trust that what I am doing is right. Give my best to Travis! I promise with all my heart I will make this up to you. Have a beautiful, wonderful wedding Ange. You’ll make an enchanting bride and wife.

P.S.-Let’s just keep this our little secret. Tell everyone I am not there because I am still on my expedition. Thank you so much. I am truly sorry. Just know I love you, and would do anything for you.

Your Truly sorry best friend,
Lisa
