Life has left me alone to see
A golden sun from above
As the days haunt me to run
I have but one true love
She is the part of everything I know
She owns me heart and soul
In the hours from birth each thought
The good I am is all from her
What wonders in her eyes I still see
Keep the candle lit for someday
Children will see the same glow in me
Example of a day long gone so sweet her song
Don’t walk the path much anymore
Flat marker lay in the ground
Heart burned to ash not found
Tears still once fallen nary a sign
Who will bind the wounds this time
I hold her heart in mine a plan
Now this day drop to knee and pray
Remembering all in time of good
Burden lifted from my soul she understood
My weakness is laid down hear not a sound
Birds sing a quiet song in the sky
Daddy why do you cry over this sod
Twenty-three is my son and still he sees
The best parts of me they are from her
Measure full worth the good my soul it stirs
A voice from deep inside smiles with pride
I walk away to face this mother’s day
Comfort takes a place leaves a smile
We Are Family
