Writer's Block
by Jack Curson (Age: 32)
copyright 05-07-2004

Age Rating: 1 to 127

The jutting beat of an authors’ heart
Fluttering with precious few minutes left
Yelling across the chasm of his mind
“This is true torture, leaving me this blind!”
His eyes wide open, but somehow shut.
“Don’t leave me here lost and all alone!”
But the words still wander, running, just running…

we all have this problem at one time or another, mine is called, "Loss Of Words" Your poem is good, too! Thanks, Anthony

I agree with David that the less I let my egocentric conscious self direct the work, the more I let God's grace and gift to work through me, composing something that is the closest I can get to a piece that is universal and for everyone. I'm told that ultimately the poem is for the reader even if the details are of my own personal life.

I know the feeling. Sometime we try too hard to find the words. When this happens, I just relax and forget about writing. The words finally come back. One day I will upload my poem "The Words Are Gone", written when I was having a writer's block.

Regards,
David Pekrul
