He was born of the lightning. An angel cast away for his wishes of experiencing the mortal emotion, love. He fell through the clouds. Hungry. His arms empty. When he hit the ground, in nothing but a silk sheet, his hunger grew. But feeling miserably empty, he just put his head down.

That’s when she walked in. She had heard a sound. And being scarcely dressed herself, she immediately attracted his attention. Fiery passion licked his insides as she silently came forwards to him. Cradling his head in her arms, caressing his cheek with her hand. He took a hold of her hand, and held it as they’re eyes met, and locked.

But he still had the lightning coursing through his veins. And his punishment was he would hunger, but never taste. Hunger, but never kiss.

After kissing her, she went limp in his arms. Feeling no emotions, he left her, lying on the ground.

For thousands of years he searched for a woman who wouldn’t die from his kiss. He would soar through the clouds, bits of water vapor collecting on his skin, until he found a woman. He would be seduced, as well as seduce, and in the end, she would be dead. His hunger grew and grew, being tortured by the pain.

Not able to return, he was stranded on this place caught between heaven and hell. He continued to search. But then, he saw a woman who was kissed by a man, and didn’t die. Surely, she was immortal.

An immortal woman at last. He swooped down, and plucked her from her seat next to the man. The woman was too fearful to struggle, as they were far from the ground.

He brought her to an empty basketball court when the dance began again. His cheek was soon against her breast like a scared child, as she caressed his face. He felt an emotion for this woman; he didn’t know how to describe it. But he wanted her. He wanted her to remain with him, and since she was immortal, he thought that she would.

But the time had come to test his theory. His lifted his head, and pressed his lips on hers.

Left with another dead woman, he felt tortured. His heart was ripping in two, his notions being tossed away. He slunk to the ground, cradling the woman in his arms, sobbing.

Poor angel. Along with learning love, he learned heartbreak.

I guess we learn our lesson... never leave the task God has set before us, for we will find no fulfillment in whatever else lay before us. What else is there? Without God on our side, there is only death.

Between Heaven and Hell? Me thinks he was already in it - Hell I mean. :-)

I'm glad you finished it. I hope one day he may find a girl that will live when she is kissed by him. I'm sure the time will come. The thing I like most about your story is it is written in a mysterious way. Kinda a scary way but it is not scary at all. I really enjoyed this piece of work.
