Potential

by Riley Mackenzie (Age: 21)

Age Rating: 10 +

Come, my friend and remember,
The minutes you've set me aside,
Forgetting joy I pulsed through your veins.
Me, just a method of travel,
For your dreams to be carved in the world.
Remember the way your eye's drank my result,
And the breeze your breath left on my brow.
We are three, forged into one.
Yet you kill the paper,
Crush the pencil,
And ruin yourself.
Remember your loss as you meander,
Stumbling over your will for unconstraint,
As you hide your potential in a blanket of secrecy.
You could've been marvelous,
Yoi could've chose life...

*claps* I like it! One thing... in the last line 'you could've chose life' = 'you could've chosen life'
Great job Riley! Very deep and moving.
