Shame
by Walter Jones (Age: 63)
copyright 05-31-2004

Age Rating: 13 to 127

I have climbed the mountain

Watched as the blood ran down

Tasted of the fruit of death

Turned my head as another

soul lost in the pit was found

Slowly I feel the cool wind

It tests what is left of my mind

How does one man live and others

are left to fend for souls floating

Where is it you must draw the lines

Color inside don’t spill out of the space

Correctly vision is a nightmare race

Sorting out the dreams of don’t care

Look upon skin see a million microbes

Horrid little creatures making up skin

Fight the fight of body and mind join

Voices still screaming strange sound in my head

Just how do you know if you are alive or dead?

Powerful imagery but I'm not sure the title fits the content. it seems to deal with more metaphysical concerns to me.

Excellent expression Wayne and powerful metaphors. Enjoyed this expressive, bare expose of raw emotion and the images you used.

Best Regards,
Lyle

"I think, therefor I am"
But thinking therefor does not prove whether one is actually....living, perse. How do we know we are alive? We feel pain, for supposedly in the afterlife, there is only pain.

That, and your heart is still beating. ^-^
