Old Cowboys
by Walter Jones (Age: 63)
copyright 06-14-2004

Age Rating: 16 to 127

Johnny is the singer
Sherry the groupie
live in for the band
Bourbon is the bodyguard

Picks are the best honeys
For the lead guitar man

I just will hang around
long as there’s’ whiskey
for cowboys and band
Silver spurs on morning stage

Sawdust falls where I land
more money in writing

Songs are visions of strife
Billy keeps coming
with his pretty wife
Deals with executives end

Drug crazed minds on the phone
Billy rides white horses

Mary peels his throne
long as there’s’ whiskey
Heard that river goes home
only ladies that I own

Quiet they tape her for sound
Johnny’s a sad one, he’s coming down

Round Beverly Hills pool
Outlaws shoot him down
Blood blends with whiskey
Time for us all to go home

That's entertainment! It is sad when the entertainers get caught up in the drugs and drinking. We have lost so many before their time. Anthony
