  In Too Deep

I’m in too deep,
Now I flounder here in wonder
Memories won’t keep,
keep my heart from going under.

Oh girl, your love,
Once a sail –‘s become an anchor
Black moon above
empty lies fill me with rancor

While your waves – waves of apathy - just beat me down
Nothing saves – nothing left of me – I‘ll surely drown
No hint of joy to buoy me up – nothing left to keep
I’m in too deep

I should have known
Should have learned the score the first time
I would have flown
Had I sensed you’d never be mine

I’m in too deep
Tho’ cold emotion’s all you’ve left now
I still can’t sleep
From notions that we’d make it somehow

While your waves – waves of apathy - just beat me down
Nothing saves – nothing left of me – I‘ll surely drown
No hint of joy to buoy me up – nothing left to keep
I’m in too deep

While your waves – waves of apathy - just beat me down
Nothing saves – nothing left of me – I‘m just a clown
Not a drop left in my cup - no hint of joy to buoy me up – nothing left to keep
I’m in too deep
