Portrait of Being
by Joan Jotz (Age: 54)
copyright 07-23-2004

Age Rating: 10 to 127

The ripe flush of being, a tapestry displayed,
In delicate stitches, each memory is laid.
Designs of a lifetime unfold on lavish looms,
Portraying existence in milli-fiore blooms.
Each subtle encounter, each tended pleasure seen,
Grows wild upon linen, in palettes aubergine.
The fragrance of living enriches silken threads,
The essence of loving spun in elusive webs.
Now each joy and sorrow pulls taut the canvas plys,
Envelops the background, where lonliness resides.
Contentment embraces the border of our dreams,
Entwined in the lustrous binding of life's seams.

Each portrait of being, so intimate and lush,
Does richly embellish the passing of time's blush.

Heh, heh. :-) I like this idea of giving you ten praise points! This poem is definitely worth it and worth more each time I read it. !!!!

Heh! And at first I wondered how someone could give ANYTHING a ten (after reading Regina's comments)...but then I went and read it. Wow. I loved it. I don't see anywhere I'd change it and my favorite part is...
The fragrance of living enriches silken threads,
The essence of loving spun in elusive webs.

I think I'll go and read more of your work later tonight.

Wow! This has to be one of my favorites from you yet! (well... maybe it ties with Pixie Spirits! ^-^) But still it's just outstanding! And with the way you use imagery, I probably would've guessed this was yours without even looking at the name!! I so love the originality in this, and at least with the praise system, I can actually give you a 10! n_n
