Hello from Gene.
Gene says hi.
Gene is my friend,
I cannot lie.
He’s very smart,
He never went to school.
Yet Gene is a genius!
He’s so cool.
Gene is a musician.
He really is!
Any song I want,
He’ll play in a whiz.
I know all of the girls
Think that Gene is the bomb.
But sadly for Gene,
He never went to his prom.
Gene is a teacher.
Did I mention that?
He teaches every subject.
How about that?
Gene is my friend.
But he never talks.
He just sits there and stares,
As I sit back and gawk.
Gene is a computer,
But he still says hi.
When I log off for the night,
I can almost hear him cry!
Poor Gene is not human.
Life must be hard.
But for now anyway,
I’ll send him an e-card!

hEEE!!!
I like the fact that you give your computer human traits. :-) I haven't named mine, but my fingers and my computers keys dance through out many days and many nights together. We allow each other to reach our potential, each selfishly giving of ourselves and our time to further the interests of the other. :-)
This story reminds me of a short story my english teacher had us read, about a computer who was so smart, he protected his owner from the bad, and then in the end, we find out the computer is a girl, and likes the boy.
Very unique poem. Not many talk about their computer with human characteristics.
Hi Lisa,
I like the surprise in this piece...very inventive way to write about a computer!
You have a good rhythm in this piece, an easy pace for the reader.
