I want to be, I can't
To give up now, I shan't
To make a lot, I have'nt
To struggle on, I must.
To exist, I do, just!
A child I had, once
Two husbands, my lot
One philanderer, one ponce
For love, I have not
If I live or if I die
Who will mourn, who will cry?
Do I care, not a lot
Do I lie, leave you to choose
It's all one, win or lose.

Life is what you make it remember you said. do what ever you what. Things are going to change you can bet on that. are you going to leave this time a better person, now that is one question you and only you can answer, if you don't like your life change it, if you can't change it work on changing how you feel about it. Good job. Thank you
I will cry, just as I did when this thought passed through my head. I have read many of your works and all would be at a loss without them. We all go through times that we question our self worth, but remember your life effects much more than just you! Many would lose if you were not who you are! Love and kisses to you and yours, Anthony
Sometimes, we reach a point in life when we just don't give a hoot anymore. Your poem sings those sentiments to me. I found it interesting that you used the word, "Ponce," to describe your second husband. I wonder if you were referring to his sexual preference or the Don Juan in him. You also chose, "Philanderer," to describe your first husband. You could have used more derogatory words to describe them both, but you didn't, just a passing thought. I think you misspelled, "haven't." Always remember that the sun rises and falls for everyone and you may be on a downgrade now, but I'm sure that you'll see daylight soon.
Hey Doreen your a Geordie, they are like Scousers, they don't give up, and I doubt that you will either.
This is a powerful piece, hopefully not to close to home.
If it is, I have a shoulder handy if you need one.
Brian.
have'nt... should be haven't
Just noticed as I read it again. :-)
Yes... *guilty look*... I've been reading it over and over. :-) It kind of grows on you, you know?
