At first it was love,
love at first sight.
The love was as true,
and as pure as light.
We'd always say,
we'd never fight.
I loved him and him alone,
and he loved me with all his life.
We always thought,
the love would never go away.
But we were soon betrayed,
by our own two hearts.
I thought the love would last all my life.
But our love became as evil,
as a murdering knife.
Our love went from pure,
to totally devilish.
The devil had won,
and had taken our hearts.
Love turned to heartbreak,
heartbreak to depression.
I soon got over it,
but was left with a sad impression.

While I have read a countless amount of love poems, this was pretty good. Your comparisons made the familiar topic not seem dry and over-used. While I love to rant about improper capitalization, and in an old poetry book I read it point blank said every line of poetry is to be capitalized, the way you skip lines is fitting as you are dividing the sentence properly. You like to write love poems, eh...? Then again, most poems hint something toward love or lost love briefly, you know? In truth, I haven't believed in the last five years "love" is something that is more than temporary. That is what my parents taught me.
Wow this is really touching. And right now I wanna sing that YellowCard song! *jumps up and starts singing* Here I go! Scream my lungs out to reach you! You are my only one!
This was so good, much better than my Wipe My Tears Away. I don't know if you meant it, but it brought tears to my eyes. I'm an emotional type of person. Great job, wonderful poem.
