The moon is dim across the meadow
each leaf is picked out, silver brushed
Each darker part is like a shadow
The fox's bark, abruptly hushed
A little mouse with dappled tail
Slips along little silver paths
The light picks out the fencing rail
The little pools where midgeys bathed
Each bird and creature dipped and glittered
In moonlight dancing while it rose
The little eyes its flickering mirrors
Across the meadow as it goes.
