Mothers
by Paula T. (Age: 15)
copyright 08-28-2004

Age Rating: 1 to 127

This poem is dedicated to my very own wonderful mother.

Mothers are sweet, generous and kind.
They help you out when you're in a real sticky bind.
They kissed your boo-boos when they stung.
They had to wipe your teething ring when you were young.
They would always hold you while you cried.
They used to take you on endless crib rides.
They are at your side forever, through thick and thin.
They will comfort you at the drop of a pin.
They love even though you can be rude.
They've lived with you through every bad mood.
They served you soup while you were sick.
When you were in their womb, they savored every kick.
You come to them for problems, questions and fears.
They help you get better, and wipe away your tears.
They lived through meanness, rudeness and hate.
They stood anxiously at the door, waiting for the end of your date.
They watched you take your first steps, which were wobbly.
They're thinking " You're gonna fall, probably."
They might sometimes embarrass you .
Giving you that 11:00 o'clock curfew....
But know that they will always be there for you,
No matter what you might ever do....

You can't find a better friend than a mother!

Sorry, I rated it age 18 and older so many people couldn't read it.
I'm sorry!

This is a very mature write. Mothers are indeed special and your mother will always be your mother when you are an adult and on your own; you can always count on her. My daughter is 28 years old and married, but her mother still worries about her and is always there for her when she calls.

Regards,
David Pekrul

Oh, now I miss my mom.
She was never one of those mom's though, she's always been more like a friend.
I really like this.
Keep up the good work.

Great poem. I made my mom something like it for mother's day when i was 10. i do have a few small suggestions :)
They used to take you on endless crib rides. -you may want to change it to "They used to take you on stroller rides."
They will comfort you at the drop of a pin. -i'm a bit confused about that line. were you trying to say they'd comfort you immediately?

Otherwise, this is a great poem ^.^ Keep writing!

Great write about mom. She must be so proud of you. It is so great to see someone as young as you appreciate your mother for who she is.
