My cat has gone on holiday, to places I don’t know
But Kitty called to say I shouldn’t worry
As the Calcutta train moves awfully slow
She’s been invited to the dining car to eat some Indian curry
A long week’s passed and she hasn’t phoned
But a postcard was delivered in the morning’s mail
Kitty’s keeping cat-boat company with an Italian baritone
He’s really not from Venice, he’s from upstate Farmingdale
14 days have drifted by, and the back doorbell just rang
A girl in a cat-suit is meowing, a rather short telegram
Kitty’s out West in Nevada, roping a wild mustang
The cowpokes she rode with all called her Ma’am
She’s become quite well-known, my furry world traveler
Last night she was spotted on CNN
She mewed for hours with Christiane Amanpour
Who was touring Slide Mountain and bridges in Brooklyn
I wonder if she’ll ever decide to come home
From Catalonia, after learning to speak Catalan
An e-mail said her next stop would be Houston’s huge Astrodome
Then she wants to see Mickey and Minnie at Disneyland
But thank goodness it was all just a terrible dream
She’s licking my face, says it’s time to get moving
I fixed her a breakfast of tuna and cream
So she can bask in the sunshine, start another day’s grooving
