  Moon Light Ritual

How quickly the light of the lustrous moon does consume my eyes
Torturing me with an anticipation that will be my own demise
Swiftly I walk, fallowing her light to the circle of stone
I step in beat with her music, finding ecstasy in her dangerous tone
Wondering aimlessly, I’m alone in the deep
I chant with her words, forsaking all else as obsolete
The wind twirls me in a dance of joys of the night
My feet guess their path, as she holds my perfect sight
I finally feel free, the chains that bound me broken
Thanking her for my release, I feel her welcome spoken
But the thousands of stars beseech me to go further still
My legs move obligingly, I’m a slave to their will
Laughter spills from my lips as down their road I float
I’ve found what I was looking for in recognition she seems to gloat
It’s branches groan at me, tell me to hold no fear
Staring at me through its branches it all becomes quite clear
I feel its spirit within me, I know I must begin the climb
Grabbing branch after branch, waiting for the right time
My feet grow weary, but I hear her urging me on
I see a faint color through the leaves, it is the coming dawn
I reach the final branch and sit looking at the fading moon
A tear escapes my eyes, for the light has come to soon

Wow...I'm speackless... Your poems do this to me all the time. It's been awhile since I read one and I forgot how amazing they all are! You're such a great dark writer, and your work always leaves me stunned. Wonderful, inspiring, and beautiful! Great work the pic is so fitting also. Light and morning always come too soon. But would we really love moonlight so much if there was never sunlight?

This is a really well written poem! The picture matches so well with the poem.

Another great poem. I truly think you should be published. Maybe you are? Anyway, I also love the moon for obvious reasons (I'm a huge Sailor Moon fan) and the imagery in this poem was perfect.
