Roses are Dead

Roses are dead, violets are too
I poisoned them all, the poison was you
I hate you now, but I loved you once
Our love had been years, my hatred but months
How could you do that, she was not me
I knew you werenít blind, didnít you see
I saw you kiss her, it made me feel sick
I tried to fight tears, they came too quick
Then you said you loved her, I thought I would die
You looked up and saw me, I heard your lie
You said it meant nothing, it was just a fling
How could that be nothing, I felt your words sting
I looked in your eyes, they were not true
My anger was fierce; I had no forgiveness for you
Did I know you, or just your lies
Is it you or your lies, maybe itís both I despise
You killed my roses, a poison; yes thatís what I said
Well guess what my love, the roses and violets arenít the only ones dead

So amazing... The pain of heartbreak is a emotion we all feel at least once. And for some of us several times... This flows so well and is full of pain and emotion. When someone's heart is broken f or the first time all you feel if pain. In later breaking after makeshift repairing, you'll feel very mad after the pain passes. I wonder how many poems I read titled "Roses are Red" hated them commented on the saying "keep writing" and gave it a one or two star. Now change the last work and give it a dark, deep, emotional, and painful basis and I'll give it a five. I wonder how many times I've said this... the pic is also perfect. Very good. Very dark.

Wow...this is AMAZING. You seem to have a natural skill to follow pentameter, but some parts seem to veer off. I think a bit of switching the words would work. But I ADORE the spin off of "Roses are Red". This is breathtaking, Sami. You are an amazing poet, and I happen to be a huge fan of dark poetry. I didn't know many people least who write on sites like these ^.~

I know this feeling! I wrote one called, "My Rath" and I think we were in the same state of mind when we wrote our poems! Thanks, Anthony

This was a really intense poem. I noticed your poems usually seem to be very dark in their themes. Especially this one. A lot of anger, and rightfully so. Cheating on someone is one of the worst crimes I can think of. I hope that you didn't really have to go through this, but from the powerful emotions you expressed through this poem, it kind of makes me think you did.

Ouch, I can feel your pain all the way over here. This is full of emotion and anger. Truely a good poem. I could almost see your tears coming from reading your righting. it is really good.

Yikes, loads of negative emotion there, eh? Your point was clear to the mind, came right through. Tis a sad poem but tis so amazing! I've never seen anyone write in that form but I'm okay with it, it does seem to cluster a bit. Try and break it up into a few stanzas, that might help with the clustering.
