What You Have Sown
by Amanda C. (Age: 17)
copyright 02-04-2007

Age Rating: 10 to 127

My choice is undeniable
Your heart is over pliable.
But I now know what I must do
And this means you and I are through.

So if you turn your back on me
You'd better do it warily.
For I am the strong, I am the stolid.
I am the dour, get that noted.

And how can you just keep on gibing me
After all that about loyalty?
Ponder these words as you lie awake
What does it truly mean to hate?

How can the guise of life be comforting?
And how can the gape of love be so empty?
And how can my fortitude be fleeting me?
But now my needs for zeal are so wanting.

Flesh, bones, and skin shall always hide
What it means to live, and not survive.

While I'm conscious no one says
How you know when you're near death.
But as my breath's disowning me,
The time has come for me to see:
That all your lies will have to wait
It's my turn to retaliate.

So get this down and get this straight,
I'd rather not reiterate.
This relationship was tentative,
A curse that I shall not relive.

I admit, your plans were insidious
By feeding off my ignorance
But you can't break my unkempt heart
Augmented hope shall never part-

As seldom as it is.

I'll deploy this verbatim:
Amity's a sweet venom,
Adulterating with intimations
The beginning of trust's long creations.

The final light
Will soon be blown.
I'm here to reap
What you have sown.
