My life is not that simple, neither is it hard
I wake in the morning sun to a world that’s been charred
I sit with my coffee, looking disapprovingly at the day
What joy I had in dreams is drifting far away
I shower and get dressed for a society that is cruel
The rules I cannot believe in make me a constant fool
I go to school and listen to the teachers drone on and on
Their requirements are crap; the whole system is a khan
Then it’s off to work to earn whatever it is I need
It causes me boredom that like a knife, makes me bleed
I get in my car and drive to where I live
Stubbornly I go over a day I know I can’t forgive
I take a sleeping pill and climb on my bed to sit
I lay my head on my pillow, and in dreams I forget

My creative writeing teacher is makeing us write stuff on demand. I don't think I'm so good at it, so I thought I'd let ya'll be the judge.

I think we all feel this way sometimes. But if we can look past the demands of our everyday existance, we can find joy in so many simple pleasures.
