I feel like I'm in an empty sea of darkness,
With no other company than the bitter cold.
Every now and then I see a faint light
Shining through the dark emptiness,
Trying to break through to me.
I have seen these lights many times before
They have taken me out of this cold darkness
And gave me warmth and comfort.
As quick and swift as they came
They were gone and I was back in the cold darkness.
I've learned to look at these lights the same
Some come and some go
I've gotten used to getting put back
Into this cold darkness I've known for so long
By the lights that cannot give me what I need
What I do need
Is a light that gives me comfort
One that gives me warmth
And the strength I need
A light that will keep me out of the darkness...
