Brother, my Brother
by Rissa T. (Age: 17)
copyright 08-09-2005

Age Rating: 10 to 127

One day we weren’t talking,
The next you say you’re leaving
What happened to the time between?

You know, I wish I hadn’t been such a jerk
Blaming you for everything that went wrong,
No matter if you were at fault.

If you had said “I’m sorry”
For all the things you’ve done
And all the times you’ve hurt me

The night that you left,
You had a fight with mom again
I know she gave you the choice

The fact that the next day,
We had to deal with family
Blaming us for what went wrong with you

I told you I was sorry
For being so rude
I said I had no reason to be not speaking to you

But you know, you were my only friend
Yeah, we all had arguments
But you really hurt my feelings,

Not saying goodbye
Yeah I know we weren’t speaking
But that’s no reason to not say goodbye

I hope you will be able to make up with him. A brother is precious. Don't let a lot of years get between you, only to realize too late, how much of each other you have missed.
