My Light (Part 2)
by Travis Bauer (Age: 21)
copyright 10-04-2004

Age Rating: 10 to 127

This sea of darkness is killing me
Killing my very soul with its emptiness
It seems impossible to survive in a world such as this
Where every day I sink deeper still into the darkness
With every moment getting yet colder

I've learned to ignore these lights
Every one I see is just like the other
Cold and ruthless like nothing I've seen before
Leaving my whole existence to die slowly
Leaving my soul to disipate into the darkness

I have been in so much pain
It's unbearable that I will spend eternity this way
With no light to give me comfort and warmth
To give me the strength I need to pull out of this darkness
And to stay out at any and all cost

These lights do give me hope however
They make it less painfull knowing that some
Are attempting to help me out of the cold darkness
To help with something they cannot
And their efforts are to no avail...

If they give you anything at all they give you hope and that it is not to no avail. Off to read more! Thanks, Anthony

EEEP! an apostrophe error in a poem of yours! second line, that "its" is NOT a contraction! the apostrophe seems to have wandered in on its own and is lost... other than that this is a ver passionate poem, full of desolate determination... very nice but please... the apostrophe needs to go home.
