Never knowing I was not free

Deaf to lies I could not hear
Sin and pride blocked my ear
Yet in Your grace, You brought me here
This is what love means

Bound and gagged far too long
Wanting right but doing wrong
Yet in Your death, You make me strong
This is what love means

Unable alone to make me right
Feeling lost in an endless night
Yet in Your glory, you bring me light
This is what love means

So draw me close, O God divine
Cleanse my soul in covenant wine
You gave Your life; I give You mine

Heather,
A very personal write, deep and meaningful emotions wash over the reader. Wonderfully written, warm and genuine, smooth meter and good rhyme.The repeated line at the end of each verse makes a strong statement.
