Spring Rain
by Stephen Washam
copyright 05-18-2005

Age Rating: 10 to 127

When clouds begin to gather in the stormy skies each spring
The flowers raise their thirsty mouths to the cooling rain they bring
Then countless falling water droplets shower from the skies
As Mother Nature wipes the teardrops gently from her eyes

The rhythm of the raindrops as they splash upon the ground
Brings a calming magic feeling with their soft and soothing sound
There’s nothing quite as beautiful as a gentle falling rain
That plays a tender love song on a glassy window pane

And once the mellow music of the skies have ceased to play
Springtime freshness fills the air as the rain moves on its way
And as a final loving gesture to the skies that gave them birth
The water droplets shine to form a rainbow o’er the earth
